Happy Gratitude Month! We are so excited to grow with you over the next few weeks as we learn to build gratitude into our daily lives together! You can expect to receive a text from us each morning through November 21st with encouraging quotes and tips for starting, building and cultivating a gratitude practice.
To get started, we’re taking a look at the origin of gratitude! The word “gratitude” comes from the Latin word “gratus,” meaning “pleasing, thankful.” Gratitude is a feeling of appreciation felt by receiving acts of kindness, gifts, help, favors, and other types of generosity from others.
The experience of gratitude has historically been a focus of several world religions and a topic of interest to philosophers and psychologists throughout time. Gratitude has deep roots in our history and DNA.
Now that we know where gratitude comes from, we can explore what a gratitude practice is and why it is important. Stay tuned for more tomorrow!
